Basics of Gestalt Language and Natural Language Acquisition Therapy
During this course, participants will learnĀ the basics of what gestalt language processing
and the natural language acquisition frameworkĀ is, and how to work with students who benefitĀ from this framework. Currently in our field,Ā many SLPs are not familiar with gestalt languageĀ processing. This is a huge disservice to theĀ autistic community, whom are nearly ALL gestaltĀ language processors. Yes - research shows thatĀ at least 85% of autistic people are gestaltĀ language processors. By learning the NLAĀ framework, SLPs will be better equipped toĀ assist autistic students in moving through theĀ stages of language acquisition, from echolalia toĀ self generated language. Video examples andĀ case studies will be analyzed to gain deeperĀ insight into the therapeutic process.Ā
